One way parents/guardians can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on our school’s parent society. Parent societies are a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds for the school. A society is a separate legal entity from the school council. About Our Parent Society
Western Canada High School does not have a Parent Society. Our Charitable Society is Known as 'Friends of Western High School Society '
Friends of Western is a non-profit organization with charitable status. The objective is to facilitate and improve the extracurricular activities of students at Western Canada High School. Each year, the money raised by WCHS through fundraising initiatives and donations flows through the organization to benefit current students.
Examples of WCHS Fundraisers that flow through Friends of Western.
- Celebrate Western is Western Canada High School’s annual fundraiser. All funds collected through Celebrate Western benefit the WHOLE school community.
- The Casino fundraiser is the school’s biennial event.
