First Day of Classes
Welcome back, students!
The first day of school for students is Monday, August 31st, 2026.
Grade 10s are to arrive at 9:15AM.
Grade 11s and 12s are asked to arrive at 11:30AM.
More information regarding the first day, including a full schedule, will be shared in August via School Messenger and the school website.

Optional Western Tour for New Students
Welcome to Western on Tuesday, August 25! New students can join us for a student-guided orientation to navigate the school grounds. Learn where to find the main gym, lunch space, student activity areas, classrooms, and student services/office support. Tour guides will share some of their own experiences at Western, and help you get set for a great year! Tours will begin in the Cafeteria, departing every half-hour starting at 10 am and wrapping up at 3 pm. Tour length varies based on the questions by participants (approximately 20 - 30 minutes).

Student ID
Student Photos & ID Cards Lifetouch will be onsite at Western for Photo Day on Thursday, August 27 for all students in the aux gym. All students are encouraged to drop by Western to have their photo taken and pick up their student ID on August 27th.
Lockers
Get ready, because locker assignments are on the horizon! Your teacher will be your point of contact for securing a locker. Prepare to claim your spot and start the school year off on the right foot.

School Supplies
School supply lists are distributed by teachers during the first week of September. As a preliminary shopping list, we encourage students to purchase:
- A Binder: can help to support four classes a semester (8 classes for the school year)

Athletics
Engaging in Athletics is an incredible opportunity we offer our students. Joining a school team is frequently linked with enhanced academic achievements, while also fostering an uplifting school atmosphere.

As part of our Orientation days, students new to the CBE will validate their computer log-in credentials for WCHS.
Off-Site Activities
